EnviroZyme® Launches MultiBio Edge™ for Aquaculture Feeds

EnviroZyme^®, a global leader in the development of microbial biotechnologies, announced the launch of MultiBio Edge^™, a multi-strain prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotic feed additive designed for shrimp and finfish aquaculture feeds. Incorporated during the post-pelleting coating process, MultiBio Edge provides feed manufacturers with a differentiated nutritional solution built around three key benefits: Attract. Digest. Thrive.

Powerful Enzymatic Activity

The microbial consortia selected for MultiBio Edge produce multiple digestive enzymes that help break down complex feed ingredients, improving nutrient availability, and feed digestibility. Testing demonstrated strong amylase, cellulase, and pectinase activity. The additive also increases feed attractability to support improved feed conversion and inhibits the colonization of Vibrio species on feed surfaces.

Strengthening Gut Protection

MultiBio Edge also supports immune response and cytoprotection against pathogens in the gut, helping build a stronger digestive foundation for healthier, more resilient animals. Testing demonstrated that MultiBio Edge dramatically reduced cytotoxicity caused by V. parahaemolyticus, helping protect intestinal cells. Bacterial genetic profiling also showed changes in the composition of the shrimp gut microbiome, including a lower signal for a marker associated with V. parahaemolyticus.
