At EnviroZyme, we are committed to delivering high-performance microbial solutions with consistent, reliable results. A key part of achieving this is understanding the shelf-life and storage requirements for the different types of microbial products we offer. This guide outlines the important shelf-life considerations based on product formulation and microbial type, helping you get the most value from your purchase.
Spore-forming Bacillus strains are highly resilient microorganisms that can survive in harsh conditions by forming protective spores. These spores are dormant and highly resistant to temperature and moisture fluctuations, which significantly extends product shelf-life. Once introduced into the appropriate environment, the spores germinate into active, vegetative bacteria that begin working immediately.
Vegetative strains, by contrast, are active, metabolically live cells at the time of packaging. While we carefully select and produce these strains to maximize stability and shelf-life, they remain more sensitive to environmental conditions and therefore have shorter shelf-lives compared to spore-based products.
